The Artists

A Montreal West Island (Kirkland) resident since 1983, Patricia McDermott began her painting career in the 1990s. An active member of several art associations, she has participated in numerous expositions in the Montreal area.   Primarily self taught, she loves oil as a medium for its wonderful vibrant colors, smoothness and blending qualities.

She has developed a remarkable realism in her depictions of fruit and it has been said that one feels as if you could pluck one off the canvas and eat it. There are those who will even try to touch her paintings that include a wood table or background to see if she has actually painted on wood; they are that realistic!

Her art work covers a wide range of subjects including landscapes, street scenes, flowers, children and abstracts. We can enjoy some of her artwork on the following pages.

Patricia’s paintings can be found in private collections across several Canadian Provinces, the U.S. and Barbados.

Patricia has donated several art works for auction or raffle to benefit worthy charities. More information on this can be found here.
