Born in Montreal, Suzanne Bélair now divides her time between Pointe-Claire and Austin, Quebec. She has been painting with oil since the age of 12 but also uses acrylic and inks in her creations.
After completing a certificate of fashion design and studies in finance, and while pursuing a productive career in business, she continues to improve throughout the years by studying with different artists and modern masters, art being omnipresent in her life. Along the way, she completed a B.Sc. in biology (concentration ecology and environment). Since 2007, her life has been devoted to painting, writing and contributing in whatever way she can. She writes two blogs, one in French, the other in English on art, creativity, life and the environment.
Suzanne is an elected member of the Institut des Arts Figuratifs (IAF), Artists for Conservation (AFC) and the Lakeshore Artists Association and an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. She was on the jury of several art exhibitions and has participated in more than 50 collectives and symposia as well as two solos since 2008.
Through her art, she supports several causes, including the fight against cancer, the protection of the environment and animals, the well-being of the physically disabled and women victims of violence. |
